Space madness… in social media

Exploring the unknown territory of the space community’s involvement in social networks, I’ve compiled a list of space-related Twitter accounts that are on my radar. From telescopes to planetary explorers, astrobiology to robots, these accounts aim to add some education to your everyday.

At last count, I have 112 space-related Twitter accounts on the list I’ve compiled. I may expand my radar to include social networks beyond Twitter sometime soon. In the meantime, follow a few that interest you!

It’s good to know that somebody is paying attention to this kind of stuff.

That’s pretty cool, I dig the planet ones. I might have to follow Neptune

Hi Ariel, I know you’re already following both, but please add my twitter accounts aeroG ( http://twitter.com/aeroG ) and AeroTweets ( http://twitter.com/AeroTweets ) to your wiki.

Anyone interested in a list should also check out AeroTweets, now with over 1100 Twitter accounts. I’ve tried to limit it to folks who are active in the aero field, but have cast a somwhat broader net, including aviation, airlines, rc airplanes and such as well as space and astronomy.

Ariel, thanks for your list, I’m going to go add the ones I’ve missed to AeroTweets.

Great list Ariel! Definitely some I haven’t seen yet.
If you think I count, here’s mine: http://twitter.com/Disco_Dave
I tweet about interviews with spacey experts, as well as the op-ed pieces they send my way (I produce Discovery Channel’s space site; Irene Klotz of Free Space is now one of the site’s bloggers)
    Thanks!

It’s interesting how the virtual world is shaped nowadays and how such social media are inflating.
